The government is suing BMW and discount retailer Dollar General, saying their use of criminal background checks unfairly discriminates against African Americans. The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission says the companies aren’t using background checks properly and the result is hurting African Americans’ job prospects. The two companies say they don’t discriminate.
