Global PC sales plunge, what’s Microsoft got to do with it?

Personal computer sales fell by 14 percent around the world during the first quarter of this year, according to a new report from the research firm IDC.

Personal computer sales fell by 14 percent around the world during the first quarter of this year, according to a new report from the research firm IDC. The drop in shipments last quarter was the worst since IDC began tracking PC sales almost 20 years ago.

BBC technology correspondent Mark Gregory in London joins Marketplace Morning Report host Jeremy Hobson to explain the shift away from PC’s, and what Microsoft’s Windows 8 operating system has do with it.
