‘This little rainstorm is not going to stop New York’

A New Yorker tells us about the commute into Manhattan today, after Superstorm Sandy.

One last thought on the way out today, from the ‘say what you will about New Yorkers’ file. They can be cranky and rude and always in a hurry. But they don’t let nothin’ get ’em down.

We caught up with Tanya Lemelle after a long, long commute into work today. “First the traffic was annoying me,” she said. “Then I realized the determination of the people to get into Manhattan at any cost, and that really kind of warmed my heart a little bit. Like we’re going to keep going and this little rainstorm is not going to stop New York.”
