Loudoun County resident on the 2012 elections

President Obama and Mitt Romney will be in New York this morning for speeches at the Clinton Global Initiative.

Josh Dinman, meanwhile, will be at work in Loudoun County, Virginia, trying to figure out which one of them he should vote for– in this election, what we call The Real Economy.

The economy in his neck of the woods is pretty strong. “The companies that are out here rely a lot on the U.S. government,” Dinman says. That, coupled with a technology industry — including server farms — are helping the county stay ahead of much of the rest of the country when it comes to jobs.

On a personal level, Dinman’s company is also pretty well off these days. His income has grown, and his job opportunities continue to expand.

So how does he feel about which president will be the best choice come November?

“Nobody really inspires a lot of confidence in me,” he admits. “Whoever I vote for, I know I’m going to be holding my nose when I do it.”

What he is looking for in a candidate — which he doesn’t see in either of the options right now — is “somebody who’s going to be able to work with Congress and get things done. This log jam in Congress is just untenable.”
