How overconfidence can hurt us in the workplace

Have you ever finished a big task a work and been greeted by a round of high fives and complimentary emails?

Well a new study out now says that Americans are increasingly overconfident — inside the workplace and out. And in large part, that’s due to our need to say something nice, or not say anything at all.

For today’s Mid-day Extra, we have the author of the study, Joyce Ehrlinger. She’s an assistant professor of psychology at Florida State University.
