Skype fixing bug that sends messages to wrong people

One very simple thing that we ask of our messaging services, be they the Post Office or email or texting: send messages to the right people. If I want to send a message to Bob, I don’t want Susan getting that message instead.
Well, that wasn’t happening for everyone on Skype for a while there. Some users were reporting sending messages to one person, only to have the message go to a completely different person. A few people even reported receiving messages from complete strangers. This apparently all started with an update to Skype in June.
Skype, which is owned by Microsoft, is issuing a patch and says, “The hotfix addresses an issue that occurs only when a user’s Skype client crashes during a Skype IM session, which may in some cases result in the last IM entered or sent prior to the crash being delivered to a different IM contact after the Skype client is rebooted or logged in as a new user.”
