Speaking of flipped open laptops, it’s not an accident that, when you walk into an Apple Store, the screens on all those shiny Macs are tipped just so. Forbes reports:

The Apple Store pays attention to every detail. You might think that Apple positions all its notebook computers for aesthetic reasons. That’s partly true. The tables are uncluttered and the products are clean. But the main reason notebook computers screens are slightly angled is to encourage customers to adjust the screen to their ideal viewing angle—in other words, to touch the computer!

The article goes on to explain how the stores’ whole vibe is to get you to touch and interact with stuff like you would at home… like you OWN it. And the more you get a feel for them, the more likely you are to buy them.  Employees can be observed before stores open (thanks big ol’ glass windows!) using an iPhone app that helps to make sure all the screens are level.
