Okay, sorry for the all caps but a lot of people really do get pretty excited about what’s happening in vacuum cleaners. iRobot, makers of the Roomba, have a new version of that device and it’s the first to feature a wireless remote control. For as futuristic and snazzy as Roomba has always been, it has always had a sort of meandering quality to it, like someone wearing a blindfold and trying to find a penny on the ground. Now, you can control where it goes and aim it at the spots that are the messiest.

I guess this is cool but part of me thinks, you know what? Just get up off your butt and go vacuum the dang rug yourself, instead of laying on the couch and making Roomba do it. Save yourself some of the $699 this will cost you, you lazy dope.

Now I’m all mad. Boo Roomba! BOOOO!
