Buy something. Facebook announced, after trading closed on Friday, that it bought Karma, a startup that focuses on social gifting through mobile. Is this a hint of the Facebook future or is that the first company the champagne cork hit?

We talked on our show today about how Facebook might make a bigger splash on your phone, and Karma’s app falls right in line with that. The idea is that you can send your Facebook friends actual gifts, like a bottle of wine or a gift card, whenever you want, wherever they are. The app notifies your friend by text, email or Facebook that there’s a gift waiting, and voila! You’re not the guy who forgot to bring a gift to the party.
