Guess what Kodak kept in its basement…

The now-bankrupt photography company kept a little something (surprising) in its basement for 35 years.

This final note today, in which the words enriched uranium nuclear reactor and Kodak are uttered together in the same sentence.

The Democrat and Chronicle, the hometown newspaper in Kodak’s hometown of Rochester, N.Y. reported over the weekend that the now-bankrupt photography company kept a reactor in its basement for 35 years.

The Nuclear Regulator Commission knew all about it. Not many others did, though. About the size of a one of those small college dorm room refrigerators, apparently. Used for neutron imaging it seems.

They closed it down and shipped it off five years ago.
