Who doesn’t need a hands-free umbrella or a one-touch button to tighten their shoe laces? And while I’m at it, wouldn’t you feel safer knowing that your plane was outfitted with a series of life-saving parachutes designed to float the entire aircraft to safety in case the engines failed? All of these inventions and many, many more were on display at the Geneva Inventors Fair that opened yesterday in Switzerland. The Guardian reports: “Officials said 789 exhibitors from 46 countries and 60,000 visitors are expected at the fair, which runs until 22 April.” So if you’ve been meaning to show off those new pogo stick sneakers, you still have a couple days to go-go gadget and get yourself to Switzerland.
