High five for cash!

Oh, I can’t wait to walk up to an ATM and slap it some skin, and if I were banking at Japan’s Ogaki Kyoritsu, I just might be able to. The bank is getting ready to introduce cash machines with biometric sensing pads that read your palm. No more worrying about remembering your PIN, just be careful to make sure there’s no ATM around when you casually put your hand out to lean against a wall. The Verge writes,

Launching with the slogan “you are your cash card,” this scheme is primarily pitched as a way to help people access their money when they’ve lost their card — in other words, as an emergency replacement rather than the next big change in the way we bank. Still, if it’s secure enough, we can’t see any reason why the big banks in the country won’t follow suit, even if it takes them a little while to buy into the idea.
