The National Telecommunications and Information Administration announced yesterday that it will be able to repurpose 95MHz of the broadcast spectrum for wireless coverage. It’s a part of the spectrum that is currently set aside for a lot of government use that could be accommodated elsewhere, apparently.  The government agency said that actually freeing up that space could take many years and a ton of money and there are some concerns that it could end up costing more to free it up than it would bring in through an auction to wireless carriers.
