The new iPad is fine but can it scrub your floors like the new iRobot Scooba 390?

See, here’s some technology you can actually use. I want a clean kitchen floor WAAAAAY before I ever want to do FaceTime with somebody*. The just-released Scooba 390 is an update of the Scooba 230 (you see, Apple? SOME companies don’t mind giving their products proper names). Whereas the 230 could wash a floor, it required that you sweep up and prep the floor too, as if YOU were working for the ROBOT. The 390, which is 160 better than the 230, has a rotating brush to clean up loose particles before it gets down to the business of cleaning your floor.
In addition to accommodating a brush, the larger model also has a more powerful battery – iRobot says 30-percent more power – and can clean a 425 square foot room. In contrast, the far smaller Scooba 230 manages 150 square feet before it’s spent.
It goes on sale today for $499.99. THE PRECISELY SAME PRICE AS THE IPAD. Your call, Mr./Ms. Consumer.
* I’m kind of a weirdo.
