Alright, I admit, I might be a tidge more geeked out on this story than your average bear and maybe it’s because I follow these companies pretty closely and see how much they bicker all the time, but I JUST FIND THIS FUNNY. Turns out that these fancy schmancy retina display-enabled panels that Apple is using for its new iPad are being made by Samsung and LG. Those, of course, are companies that make products that compete with the iPad and iPhone. Samsung has even been the target of lawsuits from Apple for stealing its ideas. All this according to Reuters, which says LG and Sharp had earlier failed to meet quality requirements for the panels. Samsung was then brought in and apparently LG found a way to get up to snuff.
Okay, fine, it’s not hilarious. But it’s INTERESTING.
