And now the Sabu blowback

This is a Marketplace.org Reader

Well, it had to happen, of course. We reported on today’s show how Sabu, leader of the LulzSec hacking group, was a stool pigeon for the Feds, ratting out members of his gang to keep the heat off himself when the big busts came down.

(Must. Resist. Talking. Like. Gangster. Movie.)

LulzSec members around the world were arrested yesterday and now that word came out that their leader was tipping off the coppers, there has been retribution against Panda Security, the web security company that was helping law enforcement. Members of Anonymous took over the site, posted a bunch of messages, the site has now been taken offline.

There are also reports of threats on the lives of Sabu’s family. Which, you know, guys: these are just websites, okay?

From Slashgear:

Heading up the brazen message was an embedded YouTube video of various Anonymous hacks and conquests, set to the tune of “Santa Claus Is Coming To Town”. The hackers finally posted up dozens of email addresses and passwords of Panda Security employees, as well as various admin passwords and login credentials.
