Who’s bad? Hackers.

Remember when Sony was hacked into so badly last year that it had to shut down the PlayStation Network? From Sony’s perspective, what could be worse than 77 million user accounts getting broken into? How about having Michael Jackson’s entire catalog, which Sony purchased after the King of Pop’s death, downloaded by hackers. The catalog includes over 50,000 tracks, some of which have never been released. Shamone!

Two UK hackers suspected of downloading the tunes were brought into court last Friday. For Sony, the fact that some of these songs might be floating around someone’s computer could jeopardize a huge source of income, especially considering it spent $250 million to buy the catalog from Jackson’s estate. CNET reports: “The intrusion, which netted collaborations with the Black Eyed Peas’ will.i.am and late Queen front man Freddie Mercury, was discovered weeks after the massive security breach on Sony’s PlayStation Network last April.” So I guess these smooth criminals, who wanna be startin’ something, will have a lot to answer to. But really, there’s no harsher judge than the man in the mirror. Heeeeee!
