Windows 8 to have British English

Among many other new languages

Queue up the lorry, guv’nor! Microsoft is finally recognizing the mother land version of the English language in the upcoming WIndows 8. It’s part of a much wider assortment of language options than Microsoft has offered in the past. The Standard English will have all those spellings with the seemingly superfluous uses of the letter u. But that’s not all: Win 8 will also offer Scottish Gaelic, Punjabi, Uyghur, and Cherokee among many others.

What’s really cool here is that users won’t have to pick just one language in which to have their software operate. If someone is in a home where, say, both Spanish and English are spoken, they’ll be able to switch back and forth between the two pretty easily.
