What’s that website, again?

I thought I heard on your show that there was a website that will give you your credit score for free. I'm sorry but I forgot what the website was. Could you please tell me again? Thank you. Nancy, Tamarack, MN

Question: I thought I heard on your show that there was a website that will give you your credit score for free. I’m sorry but I forgot what the website was. Could you please tell me again? Thank you. Nancy, Tamarack, MN

Answer: What you heard was where to go to get your credit report for free. By federal law, you can get a copy of your credit report from each of the three main credit report bureaus for free once a year. There is only one authorized provider of the service: AnnualCreditReport.com.

You can get the reports all at once or you can set it up to get one report every 4 months.

The main way people get their credit score for free is when they’re turned down for a loan. Don’t believe all the advertised come-ons about “free” credit scores. Somewhere, there are strings attached.
