A little bit of a mathematical illustration to the ongoing Samsung-Apple wars here. Samsung reports that it’s sold over 300 million mobile handsets in 2011. That’s up from 280 million in 2010. Samsung has been the number two handset maker globally behind Nokia but considering Nokia’s recent stumbles, Samsung might be poised to take the crown. So when you hear about Samsung bitterly fighting Apple in court to make sure its products get sold, know that there are a lot of sales at stake.
