Ann Marie Kennedy lives in a small town in Ireland called Effin. But when she tried to to update her Facebook profile to reflect where she lived, it didn’t work, instead suggesting places like Effingham, New Hampshire. Apparently, “Effin” ran afoul of some kind of foul language filter that made it sound like Kennedy lived in F*cking Ireland. She’s now started a Facebook group to get the company to change its mind. A spokesperson for Facebook said that this was an error and it will be fixed. I’m sure he’s looking forward to putting the whole Effin situation behind him.
