The U.S. Trade Commission ruled yesterday that Apple didn’t infringe on rival smartphone maker HTC’s copyright. HTC, which recently purchased S3 Graphics, tried to make the case that Apple copied S3’s ideas and used them in the iPhone. Apple has been pretty successful at defending itself against these copyright cases, which have become more and more popular among tech companies. It’s thought that HTC purchased S3 for the company’s patents just so it could go after rival smartphone makers.
