This final note today, in which in which Occupy Oakland contributes to the local economy. There’s a little dive bar downtown, right by where all the occupiers are. A place called the Radio Bar.

We gave Zhiva Kirschanski a call — he manages and tends bar — to see if the huge demonstration yesterday did business any harm.

Turns out — no.

Zhiva Kirschanski: It was pretty much packed out the door from the minute we opened til 2 a.m. And I did so much business that I literally ran out of every single beer in the place! That’s pretty epic, to say the least.

Tip was epic, too: Couple of hundred dollars.
