On Friday Google announced the upcoming launch of 100 YouTube channels some time next year, which “will generate about 25 hours of new, original programming a day on YouTube.” So who gets a channel? Madonna, Jay-Z, and Deepak Chopra to name a few. Actually, if anybody knows the punch line to the “Madonna, Jay-Z, and Deepak Chopra walk into a bar” joke, please email it to us. Google honchos say it’s not “trying to replace TV or cable, but merely to complement it.”
