These days, the activists Occupying Wall Street are all over the news, with high profile visitors ranging from Nobel Prize winning economist Joseph Stiglitz to Michael Moore to Radiohead. (Actually, scratch that last one.)

But on September 24th, when they had their first Saturday march (the one that ended in mass arrests and pepper spray), it was a smaller, more uncertain affair. As the occupation stretches into its third week, that day provides a window into what activist Isham Christie calls “the first steps of what we hope is a blossoming social movement in the United States to fight economic, political and cultural injustices.”
