I mean, they’re hackers with names. They’re not just mysterious nameless hackers. They’re accused of being part of the hacking group known as Anonymous. 15 alleged hackers were arrested after 32 raids in Italy and one in Switzerland. The suspects range in age from 15 to 28 years old, five of them are under 18. Italian police say that one of the arrested is actually the leader of Anonymous. Members of the group still online deny that their group has a leader and vow swift and terrible revenge (because arresting someone for committing a crime is somehow…wrong?). Denial of service attacks are likely the weapon of choice against Italian police and government. But one wonders just how long this will all stay funny to the hackers.
