Most reporting of this story is totally burying the lede: Sega still exists! The game company was hacked and the thieves made off with 1.3 million customers’ personal information, including emails, user names, passwords, and birthdays. No actual credit card information was taken so this sets up to be a pretty big phishing operation by the time it’s done. Expect bad guys to contact these people posing as Sega, expressing dismay about those horrible hackers, and ask for MORE personal information to “re-establish” the accounts. Don’t fall for it!
