We heard from Kai reporting from Shanghai on today’s show. It’s been five years since his last visit, and a lot has changed in the Chinese economy. For foreigners working abroad in that country, they’re set to receive retirement benefits from the government — but they may not be exactly beneficial.

Back here in the U.S., bond prices become another sign of a slowing economy. For-profit schools are facing new rules aimed at better preparing students. The West isn’t facing tornadoes or floods like the Midwest, but the agriculture industry is still facing its own problems. Renewable energy advocates and conservationists are duking it out over new proposed projects. And Tess spoke with former IMF chief economist Simon Johnson about the future of the IMF and how it’ll be linked to the Greek debt crisis. And here are the songs we played:

  • I Was A Lover – TV on the RadioBuy

  • Get Down Saturday Night – The Wonderful Sound Of Induce!

  • No One’s Gonna Love You – Cee Lo GreenBuy
