On today’s show, Kai spoke with Curtis Hanson, director of the new HBO movie on the financial collapse called “Too Big to Fail.” The U.S. government may be looking towards a British way of handling social programs: paying only when they achieve the desired results. President Obama was in Europe earlier today, and this week will be lobbying leaders to help out with the Middle East.

Extreme weather continues to pound the Midwest, pushing insurers to consider what may be a “new normal” for weather. Republican presidential contenders are going to have to look forward to raising a lot of money if they want to put up a fight. Commentator Rob Walker gave his thoughts on the future of targeted ads. And we also heard from the Sacramento Bee’s Sam Stanton on the Supreme Court’s decision that California must release tens of thousands of prisoners or increase capacity.
