Bits have defeated atoms. Trees high five each other. Electronic books are now outselling regular books at Amazon.com. As of April, says the company, they’re selling 105 e-books for every 100 books, and that’s not counting all the free books that you can download already. Amazon also adds that the cheap ad-supported Kindle that comes in at $114 is the best selling of all the Kindles (which surprises me because it’s not that much cheaper than the next model but has ads, I guess people just see the lowest price and buy it). As for how many books it has sold or how many Kindles, Amazon never says so feel free to make up your own number: 12? 144 squillion? Pi? Whatever you like.
