Not sure what’s weirder: that someone died as the result of a planking accident or that planking is a phenomenon that exists. In case you’re as unhip as I was and don’t know about it, planking is a popular internet meme where you lay out as stiff as a plank of wood and then get yourself photographed that way. Then you post it (the Facebook planking group has 140,000 “likes”) and people get delighted. I DON’T UNDERSTAND THE INTERNET SOMETIMES. Anyway, some guy in Australia got drunk and tried to plank on a seventh floor balcony. Will this be sufficient to scare impressionable kids about the dangers of planking?
