An employee of Thomson Reuters tweeted something critical of her company’s management. Now the NLRB will file a complaint against Thomson Reuters for violating the employee’s rights. Deborah Zabarenko was the Reuters environmental reporter in DC and also the head of the Newspaper Guild for Reuters. She tweeted: “One way to make this the best place to work is to deal honestly with Guild members.” This was in response to a supervisor asking people to post about how to make the company the best place to work. Zabarenko said that she was then called at home and told that her post violated rules about being publicly critical of the company. A Thomson Reuters spokesperson said they didn’t think Zabarenko had even been disciplined.
