The Android platform is growing exponentially, tons of new phones and tablets coming online. Sure, the free apps are popular but, you know, free. The Android app store has long been criticized for being too confusing and for lacking a speedy check-out register (unlike Apple’s iTunes). Android platform manager Eric Chu on Tuesday said they have plans to address these problems. They’ll begin offering carrier billing, where an app can be charged to your carrier instead of to the store, add in-app purchases (something Apple did a year ago), and go in to try to weed out the crap/scam apps more diligently. Feeling some Verizon iPhone heat much, guys?
