MTV’s new show is getting a lot of heat from the Parents Television Council for its racy depictions of teens. Eve Troeh looked into how that’s affecting advertising. Also in entertainment, the Weinstein Brothers — after their Miramax company was sold to Disney a few years ago — seem to be back in action, just in time for the Oscars. The New York Times is getting ready to set a fee for its website — with its readers and other newspapers follow? Mozilla announces a do-not-track add-on for its web browser FIrefox, which would allow users to opt-out of personalized advertising while surfing the web.

Protestors against austerity cuts are rising in the U.K. and are now targeting businesses. New York City just named its first chief digital officer.
