The New York Times says that 11 out of 14 Knicks players are on Twitter, a number matched by two other teams. Two additional teams have ten players on the service. For the Knicks, it’s a shift from a previously locked down approach to PR where players weren’t allowed to make any public statements without a PR handler there. Teams have kind of given up, forced to trust the players in managing their own public images.
