L.A. has a thing for frozen yogurt, and Pinkberry has made the trend notably more visible since the chain opened in 2005. L.A. also has a thing for parking tickets — the lack of parking at Pinkberry’s first location gave police bragging rights for administering 1,000 parking tickets within a span of five days (quite an indicator for how much people love the stuff — no one knows the severity of parking restrictions like an Angeleno). But now froyo zealouts don’t have to pay penalties for their creamy love; having spurned a string of knock-offs and opened 83 locations, Pinkberry has decided to close its infamous flagship store in West Hollywood.

Don’t feel too bad for the meter maids; there are plenty more ticketing opportunities to go around.
