Work Life: Museum guard

On this week's "A Day in the Work Life," our regular look at how folks trade time for money, we explore the halls of the National Museum of Women in the Arts with guard Karen Harris.

TEXT OF STORY

Tess Vigeland: A year ago, Norway’s Edvard Munch Museum reported its version of “The Scream” was beyond repair. Thieves stole it in 2004. It was recovered, but water damaged.

The museum has undergone a $6 million security upgrade, but one traditional element remains: the guards.

On this week’s “A Day in the Work Life,” we get a tour from another museum’s guard in Washington, D.C.
