TEXT OF STORY

KAI RYSSDAL: This final note . . .

British young people have some new musical idols: Bach and Brahms. U.K. radio’s Classic FM says its audience now boasts almost half a million young teens — 50 percent more than in February. The Marketplace Players wish the great composers were around to take advantage of the new youth market.

ANNOUNCER: This Saturday at Wembley Stadium, Classic FM presents . . . Beethoven.

The Madman of Vienna brings his demonic musical power to London for one night only. Screaming strings. Roaring horns. And 10 pieces of heavy, heavy percussion.

Beethoven. If it’s too loud, you’re not deaf.

Beethoven rocks Wembley. It’s gonna be classic-al.
