Who: Mel Karmazin, Chief Executive Officer, Sirius Satellite Radio

Joined Sirius in 2004 as CEO. Before that, he was president and COO of Viacom; president and CEO of CBS.

First paying job: Working at an ad agency.

Education: Earned a B.A. in accounting and advertising from Pace University in night school.

What you may not know: Word has it that Karmazin is publicity shy. According to Newsweek, when Howard Stern was at CBS, he was forbidden to use Karmazin’s name on the air.
