Eve Epstein is the acquisitions editor for Marketplace. She works with a network of freelancers across the country who file stories for Marketplace.
Eve’s current job marks a return to the show. She worked at Marketplace in the mid ’90s in Los Angeles as the senior news editor and was part of the team that won the duPont-Columbia University award (1996 – 97). She spent the last decade at Oregon Public Broadcasting in a number of roles, helping to start a local talk show and assigning local reporters as the station’s managing editor. She was the lead producer for OPB’s 2009 Peabody award–winning series “Hard Times,” about the recession. She started out as a print reporter working in West Virginia and Boston.
Eve attended Princeton University, where she received her bachelor’s degree in comparative literature, and Columbia University, where she received her master’s degree in journalism. She grew up in New England but never left the West Coast after her first stint at Marketplace. She lives in Portland, Oregon, with her family.
