In the past 20 years, honey production has fallen dramatically worldwide. American bees produced 152 million pounds of honey last year, down from 220 million pounds in 2000. In Europe, it’s a similar story. But a study by scientists in France has shown that even a small amount of organic farming close to beehives boosts honey production and bee survival rates.
