Marketplace

One way to improve capitalism? Focus on dignity.  That's what Arthur C. Brooks, the president of the American Enterprise Institute, believes.  He says that the only way to more economic growth is bringing a sense of dignity back to the political conversation, so that the 6.8 million people without jobs in this country, who he calls "distressed human assets," can be matched to the more than six million jobs openings.

Also, we're talking about the things that frighten us in our first-ever "chicken-off."  And, make sure to get those book club votes in before Thursday, Nov. 2.

As a nonprofit news organization, Marketplace is on a mission that drives what we do every day: to increase economic intelligence across the country. But we can’t do it alone. Become a Marketplace Investor today, in whatever amount you choose, and your donation will go twice as far, thanks to a dollar-for-dollar match from The Kendeda Fund.
