You’ve probably heard of so-called Sanctuary Cities. President-elect Donald Trump has pledged to withhold federal funding for cities that don’t cooperate with federal immigration authorities, like Chicago and San Francisco. Now college students are asking their schools to become Sanctuary Campuses. Students at NYU, Stanford, Yale and other colleges across the country have staged walkouts this week demanding protection for undocumented students. President-elect Donald Trump has said he plans to reverse an Obama Administration policy that allows many of those students to stay in the U.S.
