At a conference put on by the Internet Association last month, Commerce Secretary Penny Pritzker laid out some of the ways she thinks her department could have a bigger role in working with the companies that shape our digital economy.

“There are different voices and different groups in government” says Pritzker. She wants the Commerce Department to be “the voice of industry in the conversation about privacy or cyber security or encryption verses law enforcement.”
