No one knows your neighborhood better than you do, which is why we started our Local Money project. We want to hear about the big money story that’s happening in your city. Submit our next topic here:

This week, we head to Delray Beach, Florida, known as the “recovery capital of the world” for its extensive amount of rehab centers and sober homes. Now, local residents are wary of how many have opened over recent years, and people are questioning its regulation and safety.

Anne Geggis, reporter for the Sun-Sentinel, joins the show to explain why city officials, neighbors and medical officials are all questioning the proliferation of rehab centers in the area.

There’s a lot happening in the world.  Through it all, Marketplace is here for you.

You rely on Marketplace to break down the world’s events and tell you how it affects you in a fact-based, approachable way. We rely on your financial support to keep making that possible.

Your donation today powers the independent journalism that you rely on. For just $5/month, you can help sustain Marketplace so we can keep reporting on the things that matter to you.
