Americans buy 90 million pounds of marshmallows a year

It's a marshmallow world out there, people.

According to the National Confectioners Association, Americans buy 90 million pounds of marshmallows each year. On their website — for what it’s worth — the trade group points out that that’s the same weight as 1,286 gray whales.

And what do we pay for 1,286 gray whales worth of marshmallows a year? $125 million.

Sounds like a Marshmallow World to me.
