Americans go organic but aren’t sure what that means

Next time you visit the supermarket, consider these numbers:

70 percent of young American consumers buy organic at the supermarket, but only 20 percent of them thought they could define what organic actually means, according to a study in Fast Company.

The study, which was conducted by brand consultants at BFG, also found that 59 percent of respondents said they were concerned about genetically modified organisms (GMOs), but only 32 percent could define what a GMO was.

Makes me wonder how many of the people who were surveyed live in a neighborhood that’s gentrifying.
