Marking the birth of modern astronomy

Michelle Philippe Feb 18, 2014

From the Marketplace Datebook, here’s a look at what’s coming up Wednesday:

  • In Washington, the Commerce Department reports on construction of new homes for January.
  • The Labor Department releases the Producer Price Index.
  • And he’s considered the father of modern astronomy: Copernicus was born on February 19, 1473. He observed that the Earth was not the center of the universe, but rather that the planets revolved around the sun. However, there is nothing scientific to be said about your observation that you are the center of the universe.

There’s a lot happening in the world.  Through it all, Marketplace is here for you.
