It used to be that in Mexico City, sounds of the organ grinder could be heard everywhere. 

Nowadays, people are more interested in listening to songs on their iPhones than hearing them played on a hand-powered organ on a street corner.

 

Uniformed organ grinders used to turn the wooden handles of their instruments up-and-down the streets of Mexico’s capital. These street musicians remember the days that they could make a good living entertaining passersby. No longer.
