Are high tech hiring systems keeping Americans out of work?

The American economy can only improve with a great workforce, and Marketplace’s Chris Farrell is worried that tech-driven hiring systems aren’t helping in the way they should.
“You have managements wandering around saying, ‘We have this huge need for skilled workers and we can’t find them,’” Farrell says. “And my answer is, ‘Your algorithms are screening them out.’”
While Farrell fears such procedures weed out creative applicants, he says they can be successful when utilized as a supplement to the hiring process.
